CLASSEN Publishes 2025 Sustainability Report: Sustainability as the Foundation for Resilience and Future Viability

Published onJune 12, 2026
Kaisersesch/Baruth, June 11, 2026. The CLASSEN Group has published its 2025 Sustainability Report. For the fourth time, the family-owned company provides comprehensive information about its activities and progress in the areas of the environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance. The report provides insights into specific measures and developments at the CLASSEN Group and demonstrates how environmental and social considerations, as well as innovation and economic stability, are integrated into the company’s development. At the same time, CLASSEN is preparing for the future requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

In a challenging market environment, CLASSEN continues to focus on long-term strategies and regional value creation in Europe. A key focus of the report is on specific measures to further develop production, including expanding energy supply, promoting closed-loop recycling systems, and increasing the use of recycled materials. At the same time, the company is continuously investing in reducing production-related emissions and developing products whose materials can be returned to recycling loops as much as possible after use.

In addition to environmental and resource issues, the report focuses on employees as a key factor in the company’s success. Through continuing education programs such as the CLASSEN Academy, the corporate group promotes knowledge transfer and supports the ongoing professional development of its employees.

“The responsible growth of our company is an ongoing process for us. Through our sustainability report, we provide transparency regarding our progress, challenges, and goals. At the same time, we use this reporting as an important management tool to incorporate environmental and social aspects even more strongly into our processes, products, and decisions. Aligning ourselves with the ESRS requirements at an early stage helps us further develop the necessary structures,” says Jan Wöhner, Sustainability Officer at the CLASSEN Group.

With the publication of its 2025 Sustainability Report, CLASSEN provides transparent information on measures, progress, challenges, and goals in the areas of the environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance. The full report is now available for download at www.classen.com.

About the CLASSEN Group

As a leading German manufacturer of wall and floor coverings, CLASSEN stands for technological leadership and durable product solutions. Approximately 2,000 employees worldwide are committed to efficient processes, responsible use of materials, and continuous improvement throughout the entire value chain. With professional expertise and dedication, they promote resource-efficient processes, durable product concepts, and the return of suitable materials to the recycling loop. CLASSEN deliberately avoids the use of chlorine, PVC, and plasticizers in its wall and floor coverings.

With numerous patents available to the entire industry, the company underscores not only its own independence but also its commitment to continuous innovation. With CERAMIN®, CLASSEN has developed a material that consists largely of recycled plastic and is highly recyclable. In doing so, CLASSEN is making an exemplary contribution to the circular economy. Founded in 1962 by Dr. Hans-Jürgen Hannig, this family-owned company is currently managed by three generations, including the founder himself, who are involved in day-to-day operations.
