Installation & Technology

Can I install the flooring over underfloor heating?

Yes, our floors are suitable for hot-water floor heating systems.

Is impact sound insulation required?

That depends on the flooring and the subfloor. For mineral-based subfloors, such as concrete screed, a vapor barrier is usually recommended. Many flooring options already have built-in insulation. Please follow the specific installation instructions.

DOES LAMINATE FLOORING REQUIRE A VAPOR BARRIER?

Yes. When installing laminate flooring on mineral-based subfloors such as screed, concrete, or tile, a vapor barrier (PE film) is absolutely necessary. It protects the laminate flooring from rising residual moisture and prevents damage such as swelling or warping. The vapor barrier is installed beneath the impact sound insulation, unless the latter is already integrated.

How much waste should I factor in?

As a general rule, we recommend allowing for 5–7 % waste. For special installation patterns, such as herringbone, this can be as high as 15 %.

Can I replace individual floorboards later?

Yes, it is possible to replace individual floorboards. This requires some manual dexterity—especially with click-lock joints.

Questions about CERAMIN®

What exactly is CERAMIN?

CERAMIN is an innovative, mineral-based material—PVC-free, odorless, and dimensionally stable. It is used exclusively for high-quality floor and wall coverings.

For which rooms is CERAMIN suitable?

Is CERAMIN light-resistant?

Yes, CERAMIN has very high lightfastness and does not discolor even when exposed to intense sunlight.

Questions About Laminate Flooring

What is laminate flooring?

Laminate flooring consists of a sturdy core board, a decorative layer (e.g., with a wood-grain finish), and a protective wear layer. It is a durable and low-maintenance alternative to real wood.

Are the floors scratch-resistant and pet-friendly?

Our floors are particularly durable, making them ideal for households with pets. Our laminate floors also feature a high abrasion resistance rating, making them suitable for heavy use.

Is laminate flooring suitable for all rooms?

Laminate flooring is suitable for all living spaces—except for wet areas such as bathrooms with walk-in showers. Water-resistant options are recommended for kitchens and bathrooms.

Is impact sound insulation required?

Yes, either this is required separately or is already integrated into the floor. Impact sound insulation reduces footfall noise and protects the floor.
Important: For mineral subfloors (e.g., screed or concrete), a vapor barrier must also be installed under the laminate, unless it is already part of the insulation.

How do I properly care for laminate flooring?

Simply sweep or vacuum, then wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use standing water or a steam cleaner.

How durable is laminate flooring?

Our laminate flooring is scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and durable—making it ideal for households with children or pets.

Can I install laminate flooring myself?
