Company Brochure with Annual Overview
Kaisersesch/Baruth, September 16, 2025 – The CLASSEN Group has published its 2024 Sustainability Report. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s progress in the areas of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Already this year, CLASSEN has taken into account and integrated numerous elements of the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)—another step toward even greater transparency and comparability.

“For us, sustainability means not only responsibility, but also future viability. With this new report, we make it clear that we do not see environmental, social, and economic aspects as separate entities, but rather as a whole. We want to inform our stakeholders transparently and at the same time demonstrate that we are consistently pursuing our path of transformation,” says Julie Quervel, Managing Director. CLASSEN Holz Kontor GmbH in her role as a consultant in the sustainability department of the CLASSEN Group.

The 2024 sustainability report highlights, among other things, progress in more efficient production methods, the further optimization of modern materials, and the development of healthy living products. By adopting the ESRS early on, CLASSEN is also laying the foundation for upcoming regulatory requirements under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

About the CLASSEN Group

As a leading German manufacturer of wall and floor coverings, CLASSEN stands for technological leadership and durable product solutions. Approximately 2,000 employees worldwide are committed to efficient processes, responsible use of materials, and continuous improvement throughout the entire value chain. With professional expertise and dedication, they promote resource-efficient processes, durable product concepts, and the return of suitable materials to the recycling loop. CLASSEN deliberately avoids the use of chlorine, PVC, and plasticizers in its wall and floor coverings.

With numerous patents available to the entire industry, the company underscores not only its own independence but also its commitment to continuous innovation. With CERAMIN®, CLASSEN has developed a material that consists largely of recycled plastic and is highly recyclable. In doing so, CLASSEN is making an exemplary contribution to the circular economy. Founded in 1962 by Dr. Hans-Jürgen Hannig, this family-owned company is currently managed by three generations, including the founder himself, who are involved in day-to-day operations.
