Kaisersesch, November 28, 2024 — The CLASSEN Group has received the coveted Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label for CERAMIN®. This award recognizes CERAMIN as one of the most efficient and sustainable solutions for the construction and renovation industry.
CERAMIN is a completely PVC-free flooring made from recycled and recyclable polypropylene (PP). The use of safe raw materials and energy-efficient production reduce its environmental footprint. The CLASSEN Group has been manufacturing CERAMIN in Germany for over ten years and has consistently championed environmentally friendly innovations in the flooring industry. In addition to Cradle to Cradle certification, CERAMIN holds other environmental and quality certifications, such as the “Blue Angel” eco-label.

International Panel of Experts Honors Innovative Material CERAMIN

Hanover/Kaisersesch, January 17, 2024. On January 11, 2024, at DOMOTEX, the material CERAMIN received the Green Collection Award for its contributions to circular economy practices in the flooring industry. The leading flooring trade show in Hanover recognized innovative and inspiring achievements by companies in the field of environmental protection for the second time.
An international jury of renowned experts, led by Dr. phil. Jacqueline Lemm, director of the Institute for Soil Systems in Aachen, selected the winners from over 70 different submissions. The specially developed, PVC-free material CERAMIN stood out for its composition and product properties: “CERAMIN from CLASSEN is an innovative combination of natural minerals and polypropylene that results in a product with defined technical properties—one that also impressed the jury with its quality.” At the awards ceremony, Lemm emphasized the high quality of the submissions and the progress made by many companies in the industry. This makes winning an award in this demanding competition all the more significant.

Excellent quality

For many years, the CLASSEN Group has been developing products with defined material and product properties. Material composition and recyclability play an important role in the development of the CERAMIN material. The product contains recycled content and is suitable for return to material cycles. It is free of PVC and phthalates. The Blue Angel certification confirms compliance with the relevant requirements for certified products.

CERAMIN wall and floor coverings are designed for a variety of applications and feature defined technical properties. The CLASSEN Group develops products with a focus on material efficiency and recyclability. This is complemented by optimized production processes and a supply chain that prioritizes suppliers from Germany and Europe. Taken together, these aspects convinced the expert jury of the Green Collection Awards.
