Kaisersesch, November 28, 2024 — The CLASSEN Group has received the coveted Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label for CERAMIN®. This award recognizes CERAMIN as one of the most efficient solutions for the construction and renovation industry.
A key factor in receiving this award is the high proportion of post-consumer recycled material that is reused in the production of CERAMIN. The consistent integration of recycled raw materials not only returns material to the cycle but also improves the carbon footprint. Compared to conventional materials, CERAMIN thus has a lower carbon footprint.

CERAMIN® stands out not only for its properties as a PVC-free flooring suitable for reintegration into material cycles, but also for its material-specific characteristics. With its unique properties, CERAMIN offers a forward-looking solution for the construction and renovation industries.

The Solar Impulse Label, awarded by the foundation of environmental pioneer Bertrand Piccard, recognizes solutions that combine environmental sustainability and economic efficiency. This recognition will help us further strengthen our position in the largest international home improvement markets and pave the way for eco-friendly innovations in the construction and renovation industry.

With CERAMIN, the CLASSEN Group once again underscores its commitment to sustainable solutions and demonstrates that forward-looking innovations and resource conservation can go hand in hand.

About the CLASSEN Group

As a leading German manufacturer of wall and floor coverings, CLASSEN stands for technological leadership and durable product solutions. Approximately 2,000 employees worldwide are committed to efficient processes, responsible use of materials, and continuous improvement throughout the entire value chain. With professional expertise and dedication, they promote resource-efficient processes, durable product concepts, and the return of suitable materials to the recycling loop. CLASSEN deliberately avoids the use of chlorine, PVC, and plasticizers in its wall and floor coverings.

With numerous patents available to the entire industry, the company underscores not only its own independence but also its commitment to continuous innovation. With CERAMIN®, CLASSEN has developed a material that consists largely of recycled plastic and is highly recyclable. In doing so, CLASSEN is making an exemplary contribution to the circular economy. Founded in 1962 by Dr. Hans-Jürgen Hannig, this family-owned company is currently managed by three generations, including the founder himself, who are involved in day-to-day operations.
