Munich, April 25, 2023. The CLASSEN brought innovative design, sustainable flooring, and product innovations to BAU 2023. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of laminate flooring and PVC-free wall and floor coverings, the family-owned business plays a leading role in circular economy and sustainability for the entire industry with its products. This was also reflected in the booth design.

The flooring of the exhibition booth was made from the company’s proprietary material,CERAMINⓇ. This makes it not only durable but also fully recyclable. Unlike conventional exhibition flooring, theCERAMINⓇ flooring is not disposed of in a waste-to-energy plant or landfill afterward, but is 100 percent reprocessed into new flooring at the CLASSEN factory. After BAU, the trade show booth itself will be set up in the showroom at the headquarters in Kaisersesch. Also in the spirit of sustainability, the family-owned company opted not to use catalogs. Instead, the booth relied exclusively on QR codes.

Unprecedented flooring

With Manor®, the flooring manufacturer demonstrated its technological leadership at BAU: Unlike conventional herringbone designs, CLASSEN first herringbone collection does CLASSEN require CLASSEN left- and right-facing planks. This eliminates the need for retailers to stock two different types of planks and enables quick and easy installation without the risk of mixing them up. The innovative product attracted particular interest among trade show visitors and won them over with its ease of use.

At the trade show, CLASSEN Uberwood®, a completely new category of flooring that falls between laminate and vinyl flooring in terms of price and quality, yet boasts a robust and scratch-resistant surface. In addition, the flooring offers optional integrated impact sound insulation and can withstand water exposure for up to a week. Inspired by hand-selected local woods, the product mimics nature’s characteristic grains and cracks. This gives the planks an authenticity that until now could only be achieved with real wood flooring.

The new Nuva collection was also a hit. This evolution of the provenCERAMIN® products features a milled bevel in the wear layer and a wide range of XL sizes. The company’s proprietary digital printing process enables a vast selection of designs. The product line is based on the company’s proprietary material and, like all CERAMIN® products, is guaranteed to be PVC-free, sustainable, and 100 percent recyclable.

CERAMIN® Flex also made its debut at BAU. CLASSEN dryback alternative CLASSEN particularly appealing for commercial projects and stands out for its health-conscious material. The product will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2023. At the trade show booth, the company also presented new designs for CERAMIN® Tiles —the sustainable alternative to ceramic and stone tiles that is already well-established in the market. The tiles are ideal for wet areas and weigh up to 60 percent less than conventional ceramic tiles. This makes the product particularly attractive to DIYers and tradespeople.

Attention to detail and innovation you can experience firsthand

The new products, led byManor® andCERAMIN® Flex, which were unveiled to the public for the first time, were a standout at the trade show. The detailed and lifelike designs of CLASSEN invite visitors to touch and feel them. BAU was the perfect venue to vividly showcase the high-quality flooring to visitors from around the world. The CLASSEN considers the trade show a complete success and has already firmly scheduled its participation in the next BAU to once again inspire the industry with sustainable product innovations.
