CASA NOVA

CASA NOVA LAMINEO Warranty Terms and Conditions

1. Guarantor

Classen Holz Kontor GmbH, located at Werner-von-Siemens-Straße 18-20, 56759 Kaisersesch, as the manufacturer of the floor planks, grants the following warranty on the purchased flooring elements in addition to the statutory rights regarding defects.

2. Warranty Period

The warranty period depends on the specific product category, product series, technical specifications, and intended use of the purchased product. The warranty period is specified in the product insert. The warranty period begins on the invoice date and upon purchase of the product by the person entitled to the warranty.

If a warranty claim is honored, the warranty period is not extended. Honoring a warranty claim does not trigger a new warranty period.

3. Scope and Coverage Under This Manufacturer's Warranty

3.1 The warranty applies to:

Abrasion resistance, stain resistance, colorfastness, and locking system for use in residential settings and light commercial use.

If damage occurs during the warranty period, the manufacturer will, under this warranty, provide one of the following services of its choice:

  • Free provision of equivalent floorboards to replace the affected area
  • monetary compensation

Replacement planks will be delivered to the original point of sale. If repairing or replacing the planks would be disproportionately costly, the warranty provider will provide a pro-rata reimbursement. This reimbursement is based on the current market value of the affected planks. The current market value is calculated based on the age of the affected flooring in relation to the warranty period. Depending on the warranty term granted, the reimbursement amount is reduced annually (e.g., 15-year warranty  reduced annually by 1/15; 25-year warranty  reduced annually by 1/25). If a claim is made, the customer is responsible for the difference between the current market value and the replacement value. However, in this case, the warranty coverage does not include claims for reimbursement of costs associated with disassembly, assembly, reinstallation, transportation, storage, travel/hotel expenses, and disposal of the affected area. These costs are borne by the buyer. This warranty does not cover consequential damages, unusual damage, or damage caused by negligence. In some countries, the exclusion or limitation of liability for negligence or consequential damages is not permitted. In such cases, the aforementioned exclusions or limitations do not apply.

If a particular design is no longer available from the manufacturer, an equivalent replacement will be provided from the current product lineup.

The warranty provided is limited to hidden defects. These are defects that were not visible before or during the installation of the laminate flooring.

3.2 Warranty Terms for:

3.2.1 Abrasion

For the purposes of this warranty, “abrasion” is defined as the complete wear-through of the decorative layer over an area of at least 1 cm². In the event of abrasion, signs of wear on the edges of the planks are excluded from the warranty.

3.2.2 Stain Resistance

With regard to low soiling resistance, CLASSEN provides a warranty in accordance with and within the limits of EN 438-2, provided that product-specific usage and care guidelines are followed. Failure to comply with these guidelines will void the warranty. The care guidelines can be viewed here.

3.2.3 CASAloc / CASAloc aqua protect Locking System

Classen Holz Kontor GmbH the stability of the profiles provided that they are installed properly and in accordance with the instructions in our installation guide, without breaking off the essential locking elements.

3.2.4 Extended Warranty Terms for Laminate Flooring with CASAloc aqua protect

The extended warranty terms apply in accordance with ISO/WD 4760:2020(E) for the watertightness of the profile joint and a maximum of moderate swelling for 24 hours when exposed to water, provided that the water is removed within this period after it has come into contact with the product. The warranty is valid only if all installation instructions have been followed and the General Warranty Terms and Conditions have been met. The extended warranty for watertightness and protection against swelling is valid for 10 years, regardless of the advertised product warranty.

The warranty does not cover events that go beyond normal household use, such as standing water, leaks, flooding, structural damage, or exposure to rain or snow when windows or doors are open.

Installation in wet areas, such as swimming pools, pool areas, saunas, rooms with built-in drainage systems, showers, or areas where continuous exposure to water is expected, is not permitted. In the event of significant water accumulation that also seeps beneath the product, rot and mold cannot be ruled out.

Moisture on the floor must be removed within 24 hours. Expansion joints in wet areas or around sinks, washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers must be filled with a highly flexible PE round cord and sealed with an elastic sealant in accordance with the installation instructions.
