CLASSEN Receives Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver for CERAMIN

Published onDecember 12, 2025
Kaisersesch, December 4, 2025 – The CLASSEN has CERAMIN Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver certification for its innovative, PVC-free material technology CERAMIN . CERAMIN on polypropylene (PP) and thus represents a particularly resource-efficient and fully recyclable alternative to conventional PVC flooring. Following intensive preparation and extensive data collection, the certification was officially confirmed on December 3, 2025.

Last year, CERAMIN received Cradle to Cradle Material Health CERAMIN —a first milestone marking the start of the rigorous C2C assessment process. Since Full Scope certification considers all aspects of sustainability and imposes significantly more extensive requirements, the CLASSEN has built up the process step by step. Having now achieved Full Scope Silver Level according to Version 4.0, the company is consistently continuing on this development path and CERAMIN comprehensive recyclability and environmental performance.

The certificate confirms compliance with the criteria of the Cradle to Cradle standard in the areas of material health, recyclability, renewable energy, social responsibility, and water management. The assessment was conducted by EPEA GmbH – Part of Drees & Sommer, which comprehensively evaluated the product portfolio. The certification is valid until February 2028.

Sebastian Wendel, Head of the Sustainability Department at CLASSEN, explains:

“A key factor in achieving Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver certification was our take-back and recycling programs. They enable us to return PP-based CERAMIN to the material cycle at the end of their lifecycle. I am particularly pleased that we have already been able to implement these concepts not only in the DACH region but also in the U.S. with partners. In doing so, we are laying the foundation for a true circular economy across market boundaries.”

The CLASSEN is convinced that recycling does not necessarily mean that CERAMIN must be processed CERAMIN into new CERAMIN. The technology has been consistently developed according to the “Design for Recycling” principle and enables the production of high-quality PP secondary raw materials that can be used in a wide range of applications. In this way, CERAMIN makes CERAMIN important contribution to improving material cycles—far beyond its own product range.
