Warranty Terms

FOR CERAMIN-BASED WALL AND FLOOR COVERINGS

1. GUARANTOR

Classen Holz Kontor GmbH, Werner-von-Siemens-Straße 18–20, 56759 Kaisersesch, as the manufacturer of the floor planks, grants the following warranty on the purchased wall and floor coverings in addition to the statutory rights regarding defects.

2. WARRANTY PERIOD

The warranty period depends on the specific product category, product series, technical specifications, and intended use of the purchased product. The warranty period is indicated in the product insert or on the packaging. The warranty period begins on the invoice date and upon purchase of the product by the person entitled to the warranty. If a warranty claim is made, the warranty period is not extended. The fulfillment of a warranty claim does not trigger a new warranty period.

3. SCOPE AND COVERAGE UNDER THIS MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY

3.1 The warranty applies to:
abrasion damage, stain susceptibility, color fastness, and the locking system when used in private settings and under light commercial use. If, during the warranty period, a claim arises in accordance with the warranty terms, the manufacturer will, under this warranty, provide one of the following remedies at its discretion: • free provision of equivalent planks to replace the affected area • monetary compensation Replacement planks will be delivered, if possible, to the original point of sale or made available at a place of performance chosen by the warrantor. If repairing or replacing the planks would be disproportionate, the warrantor will provide pro-rata reimbursement of costs. This benefit is based on the current market value of the affected planks. The current market value is calculated based on the age of the affected flooring in relation to the warranty period. Depending on the warranty term granted, the compensation amount is reduced annually (e.g., 15-year warranty  reduced annually by 1/15; 25-year warranty  reduced annually by 1/25). If a claim is made, the customer bears the difference between the current market value and the replacement value. However, in this case, the warranty coverage does not include claims for reimbursement of costs for disassembly, assembly, reinstallation, transportation, storage, travel/hotel expenses, and disposal of the affected area. These costs are borne by the buyer. This warranty does not cover consequential damages, unusual damage, or damage caused by negligence. In some countries, the exclusion or limitation of liability for negligent or consequential damages is not permitted. In such cases, the aforementioned exclusions or limitations do not apply. If a particular design is no longer available from the manufacturer, an equivalent replacement will be provided from the currently valid product range. The warranty granted is limited to

3.2 Warranty Terms at:
3.2.1 Abrasion For the purposes of this warranty statement, “abrasion” is defined as the complete wear-through of the decorative layer over an area of at least 1 cm². In the event of abrasion, signs of wear on the edges of the planks are excluded from the warranty.

3.2.2 Stain Resistance With regard to low susceptibility to staining, CLASSEN provides a warranty in accordance with and within the limits of EN 438-2, provided that product-specific usage and care guidelines have been followed. Failure to comply with these guidelines will void the warranty. The care guidelines can be viewed at: https://www.classen.com/service/downloadbereich/.

3.2.3 Lightfastness The CERAMIN flooring is lightfast according to Level 6 of the Blue Wool Scale: Lightfastness (according to DIN EN 438) describes the color stability of the pigments in the surface during prolonged exposure to light. It therefore exhibits very good lightfastness during prolonged exposure to light; however, it is not light-resistant and must therefore be protected from direct sunlight.

3.2.4 megaloc/easyloc Locking System We guarantee the stability of the planks when installed properly and in accordance with our specifications in the installation instructions—without the essential locking elements breaking off.

4. WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This warranty applies to all CERAMIN-based Grade I products manufactured by Classen Holz Kontor GmbH that were produced after the date of issuance of these warranty terms. Second-grade products, special-order items, or other CERAMIN-based products sold at a discount, as well as those that differ in color, gloss, or texture from the images and samples provided, are excluded from this warranty. These warranty terms apply exclusively to indoor installation and the associated climatic conditions in residential and office spaces, as well as in rooms subject to increased moisture exposure, such as residential bathrooms. However, this applies only to water exposure classes W0-I through W2-I as defined by DIN EN 18534. For class W3-I, only the XXL large-format tile is suitable for wall installation. In commercially used spaces, installation must be performed by a professional flooring installer.

The flooring must not be installed in areas subject to extremely high temperature fluctuations. The warranty does not apply to events that go beyond normal household use, such as standing water, leaks, flooding, structural damage, or exposure to rain or snow when windows or doors are open. Furthermore, damage caused by moisture from the subfloor or ground, as well as from adjacent building components, is excluded.

Our CERAMIN-based products are water-resistant but not waterproof (profile joints). Installation in wet areas, such as swimming pools, pool areas, saunas, rooms with built-in drain outlets, showers, or in areas where repeated exposure to water is to be expected, is not permitted. In the event of significant water accumulation that also seeps beneath the product, rot and mold cannot be ruled out. Moisture on the floor should be removed immediately. Expansion joints in wet areas or near sinks, washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers must be filled with a highly flexible PE round cord and sealed with an elastic, waterproof sanitary silicone in accordance with the installation instructions. Baseboards, moldings, and door frames must be sealed against the wall and along the floor. Cleaning with professional cleaning machines or steam cleaners is not permitted. All installation and cleaning instructions can be found on the product packaging or at www.classen.com/service/downloadbereich

8. STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS

This manufacturer’s warranty does not limit the customer’s statutory claims for defects against the retailer or manufacturer arising from the purchase agreement, which the consumer may assert free of charge. Statutory warranty claims remain unaffected by this warranty promise. The manufacturer’s warranty thus enhances the customer’s legal position. If the floorboards are defective, the customer may also contact their retailer under the statutory warranty, regardless of whether a warranty claim exists or is being asserted.
